We are all Sound of Music fans so that is what Kiira decided to play. Surprisingly she was more nervous about introducing herself on the microphone than playing the piece.

Evan's birthday celebration at the Mountain School
I wish we had a better picture of the rainbow bridge. The birthday celebration at the Mountain School is so special. You are told a story of how you came into this world and as one thing after the next unfolds, you are led over the rainbow bridge to where your parents and siblings are. You are then presented with a beautiful handmade card and usually a little present. This year Evan received a candle and candle holder. They also get to wear a special cape. So lovely it brings tears to your eyes.....

Disco Inferno
Hi, my name is Heidi and I am a disco-holic. Yes, I could have disco everyday, anyday. And yes, I will dance to it and I will point my finger in the air like I am popping bubbles. I will shake my groove thang and I will SING to the music. I become one FUNKY lady..... And yes, I DID all that at the Reed Fundraiser which happened to be a disco theme this year.
Alan wisely bowed out and my girlfriend Belinda and I went as each other's dates. Turned out our other girlfriend Kelli just got back from Vegas so was "sick" and couldn't make it. Her husband came stag so the three of us boogied till the sun came up. Which in Tiburon, at a fundraiser, apparently is 11 pm. Good enough - my go-go boots were wearing thin by then and I still had to walk home. Luckily they have the event at Blackie's pasture which is just down the hill from us. Till next year.....Peace.

Mother's Day
As some of you may remember, last Mother's day was...well...how shall I put this....less than successful. That meant the pressure was on this year. Honestly, I don't feel like my demands are all that great for this once a year day. All I want is to sleep in, someone ELSE to cook breakfast, lunch and dinner (I don't even care if we go out or it's takout. I just don't want to be the one that has to coordinate it!) and well, for the kid's demands to fall on someone else the majority of the day.
The day started out quite nice actually. I woke early (although it was when I wanted to), did some grocery shopping (by myself, no one hanging on the cart barking orders of what food they wanted) and then came home to be greeted by a lovely breakfast and homemade presents from the kids.
Actually this year my request was to just be left alone in my house so I could clean it. Ironic isn't it? I just don't ever get any time to myself in my own home. Really, that's all I wanted. That turned into the kids saying..."NO....I don't WANT to go out, I want to stay with MOMMY!" Bloody kids.... Well, eventually, Alan pried them away and I got my wish. It was lovely, as weird as that sounds. Ask any mom though and I bet they all say, #1 thing they want - sleep. #2 request - time in their own home alone.
That said, it was also VERY nice to have a homemade dinner by Alan surrounded by my family. That topped the day off. Phew, pressure's off for now......

Evan's May Fest
There was talk it would be rained out....like most events this year but behold - we persevered and it happened. The Mountain School has May Fest for the kids each year. They learn several songs (Pop Goes the Weasel), wear a special headdress, and hold their colorful ribbon as they skip round and round the maypole.
I am not sure Evan really got what it was all about, but boy did he have fun. Especially during the "pops" in "Pop Goes the Weasel". I hope he remembers even a fraction of these wonderful memories.
